I wanted an alternative to a $2000+ microscope setup for not only viewing my work but recording video. I explored several options and came up with this under $40 otoscope which works perfectly for my needs to inspect and work on my watches in great enough detail to oil the jewels, inspect screw threads, pinions, gear teeth, etc. While of course it doesn't replace a real watchmakers microscope setup, it's almost free compared to the overall cost and is more than enough for me as a pure hobbyist.
