This is Part 1 of how to replace or re-lay ridge tiles with a modern dry ridge system, this is great to refurbish or convert from ageing mortar bedded ridge tiles. Particularly handy if you live somewhere exposed and the wind keeps blowing your ridges off.

To be fair like most things in life, there is more than one way to do it, and many dry ridge kits you could potentially use. I've chosen to take a quick look at some of the most common techniques used with good off the shelf kits. This part specifically deals with two common types of roof construction and how to fit the brackets for the ridge batten.
