Welcome back to Day 2 of the 2023 Scooter Cannonball! We are riding 348 miles from Lake Havasu to Winslow, AZ. This is an uncompressed (but not truly "raw") clip from the 5th segment of Day 2, riding to find Bonus Point 3 on twisty Arizona desert highways.

Doug, Tyler, and I met up at the previous checkpoint, so we ran this section together. We pushed our little 150cc scooters at about 9/10ths most of the time... usually doubling the speed limit on that highway. That was a fun stretch of road!

The boys walked away from me on the uphill stretches because of my failing variator. I was unable to maintain speed or climb as well as the ADV150's, but I could still reach 70+ mph on the downhill sections to close the lost ground between us. I nearly snagged a ticket toward the end of the segment when I passed a sheriff camped on the side of the road... a speeding ticket for 58 mph in a 50 zone wouldn't have been a nice trophy for the day!

We all chatted throughout the day over my Cardo PackTalk EDGE communicators. Unfortunately, I didn't have my dedicated audio recorder running to capture the group communications today. I'll have more of the group commentary coming up in future episodes. 😉👍
