After F-22 Lightning II for DOS (   • F-22 Lightning II • Novalogic 1996 DOS  ), Novalogic quickly cooked up another F-22 game this time for Windows 95. The game engine was updated to utilize new MMX technology from Intel CPUs ("Up to 40% faster" told the slogan at the edge of the game box) - it was software based and used a lot of dithering which looked pretty good - similar techinique was used in software renderer of Jane's F-15.

Game was officially licensed by Lockheed-Martin and was advertised as being realistic with quotes from actual YF-22 test pilot that this simulation is as close it gets to flying the real F-22 Raptor. Lets just say DID's F-22 Air Dominance Fighter released the same year basically won in every aspect with Novalogic's Raptor. That doesn't mean F-22 Raptor isn't fun game to play. It's an easy to learn and hard to master game - there aren't many weapons and systems to learn and missions become more challenging the further you go into campaigns.

Running this game on Windows 10 is not really problematic, dgVoodoo2 will help you with video issues, also this game only supports gameport joysticks (Windows 95 times), so your USB stick's analog axis will not work. You can still play with keyboard, though the lack of fine control will make you bleed a lot of speed in the turns.
