Watch me try the new electric TRYKE share bicycle and app. A great new addition to urban mobility in Kuala Lumpur, as the electric pedal assisted motor is powerful and allows you to get around without sweating - one of the major justifications for electric mobility devices in the hot humid tropics.

And watch me go for my second dose of AstraZeneca vaccination and get my digital Covid-19 certificate. Easy, fast, efficient, free of charge - and without any side effects. Now we need the public at large to also get vaccinated, so we can get herd immunity and get out of the terrible Covid-19 hardship that many countries with relatively low vaccination rates (like Malaysia) currently are undergoing. My bicycle trip through Kuala Lumpur shows the nearly empty streets and the many closed businesses, including the famous, old, iconic Coliseum Cafe, which closed for good this year. What should have been a celebration of its 100 year anniversary, sadly became its last year of operation.

I'm encouraging the public to sign up for their free vaccination. My analogy to "drunk driving" is a good one. In other words, if you choose to do drunk driving, you put your own life and that of others at unnecessary risk. The same is true, if you choose to remain unvaccinated!

The latest data show that 99% of those who die from Covid are unvaccinated. So, just do it, get vaccinated!

Update 22 July 2021: Replies from TRYKE after I shared the video with the TRYKE costumer support
1) TRYKE are already working on speeding up the "end trip" feature. The problem seems that the TRYKE bicycle currently uses their own G4 signal to determine the bicycle's location, but communication is hampered by the metal encasement inside the bike. Instead, TRYKE will try to connect to the bluetooth of the user's phone, as a way to quickly get the GPS location of the bicycle, which is especially useful in dense urban environments.
2) TRYKE reduced my ride charge down to RM29, the equivalent of a daily pass, which is nice of them. Thanks!
3) TRYKE was happy to receive my video feedback writing: "WOW. OMG thank you for this, let us review and get back to you! [...] Sir this is amazing thank you so much for the amazing insights from a user/avid cyclists point of view! W e have shared it with the rest of our team and will be providing a detailed response/questions shortly!"
I much appreciate TRYKE's quick response and positive attitude and hope that they become a success in Kuala Lumpur and beyond :-)
