We finally got a chance to drive the First Edition VW ID.4 and we're impressed! Not by the ID.4's range, performance, or speed but rather it's practicality as an everyday commuter.

Since we saw the ID.4 last a couple months ago, little has changed but this was our first chance to get behind the wheel and take it for a spin. Quickly the RWD system reminded us that this is not a performance car but all of the other little features and relatively low starting price had us walking away appreciating the ID.4 for what it is, an awesome EV for the average American person. It starts at $39,995 and only goes up to $49,675 for a fully spec'ed out AWD model. Especially when you include $7500 Federal Tax Credit, 3 years of unlimited DC Fast Charging at Electrify America chargers, and other local incentives, the Volkswagen ID.4 is a clear winner in our book.

We're expecting our reserved ID.4 to arrive in April 2021 and if we decide to purchase it, we'll be adding it to carsharing/rental fleet. So if you want to see more on the VW ID.4, please consider subscribing and following The Kilowatts | @KLWTTS.
