As the title reveals this is a short fan made Star Trek tribute film...
The film is written, directed, edited and post-processed by me (janowski4563), a true Star Trek "nerd" who, since watching the Star Trek original series on TV as a child, have had a dream to make a film with the story set in the wonderful future created by Gene Roddenberry. With the help of some dedicated friends, colleagues and students, as well as the fortunate possibility to use the studio and production equipment at the school where I teach media production, I/we gave it a shot...
With no budget at all (if you don't count the few Star Trek uniforms and a bunch of 3D/AE plugins that I personally invested in), gradually having learned more and more about CGI work in AE throughout the three years(!) long project (by trials and countless errors), and a bunch of necessary compromises and "kill-your-darlings" along the road to keep the allowed maximum lenth for a Star Trek fan production (15 mins), the film is finally ready.

Filmed on Canon EOS 800D.
Edited on Adobe Premiere Pro.
Post production and CGI made in Adobe After Effects (with great help of the Video Copilot plugin "3D Elements").
Music compiled using "Pro Scores - Cinematic Music Design Tools", purchased from Video Copilot.
All actors/actresses are dedicated amateurs.

We have strived to make the project in accordance with the rules for Star Trek fan films found on this page:
