Globally, access to education is increasingly limited by the ability to pay. In Kathmandu, less than 1 in 7 schools are public, and of these, few public schools offer early childhood education. As the growing demand outstrips supply, money surfaces as the distinctive barrier to quality for an essential service - starting before primary education.
