He live in luxurious hotels and flew private jets. On social media, he posted videos of himself tossing wads of cash like confetti, and he told his followers he was a real estate developer. Background of Hushpuppi
Raymond Igbalodely popularly known as Hushpuppi was born in Lagos, Nigeria and although he has not publicly revealed his age, he is believed to be in his 30s. Several publications claim Hushpuppi was born on June 14, 1988, which would make him 32 as of 2020. Still others believe that his date of birth is actually in October. Although he states on his social media page that he relates with Nigerian kids from humble backgrounds, he rarely talks about his childhood and upbringing. When asked about the success and richness he has, he replies that he used to be a devoted and hazardous gambler once then the Lord blessed him. Now he has everything he wants: fashionable cars and plenty of expensive clothes and accessories that he seems to like so much. As far as it is known about Huspuppi, he used to be a regular kid born to a family without big money. It is said that in his childhood, Ray knew so much poverty that he considered himself happy to have one good meal a day. He was on the verge of becoming a usual street pickpocket or even an arm robber. Instead, he started searching for ways to earn money and found some, indeed. Hushpuppi became known over the media when he and his close associates, Mompha and Classic baggie kept on giving fans something to talk about over their lifestyle. He gained even more fame due to his feud with Davido.
Similar to Hushpuppi source of income, people know very little about the his family. In an Instagram post, he mentioned that his family lives in a not-so-safe country with a lot of kidnappings. He also added that he would not risk posting his family to online strangers who are not valuable to him. Hushpuppi has never been vocal or open about who is parents are but after having fallout with one of his friends Mompha, some little secrets about the Instagram influencer’s parents were spilled. Mompha claimed that back at home in Nigeria, Ray's mother was a bread seller and his father was a taxi driver. Mompha called Ray out on ignoring his family. It has not been confirmed whether the claims are valid as Hushpuppi has not mentioned the situation at all and Mompha has not also brought forward compelling evidence of his allegations and tea spilling.
Although, Ray Hushpuppi didn’t actually reveal what he does for a living, but says he’s a beggar and used to be a gambler. He also claimed to be into real estate and brand endorsement. He had so many controversies with musicians in the country including Phyno, Patoranking and Ice Prince whom he accused them of wearing fake products. One thing we are sure of is that Hushpuppi is a real lover of Gucci products which he does not hesitate to flaunt on social media. Ray Hushpuppi has a lot of expensive cars including latest Rolls Royce, Range Rover and so on. He is one of the most influential Nigerian socialite with an estimated net worth of $20 to $40 million.
Ray Hushpuppi shared more information about his personal life as he disclosed that he has a family even if he does not put their pictures up on social media. He revealed that he has three kids from three different women. He also added that in the past five years, he has been in an unsteady relationship with the mother of his last child.
