The Ueno Zoo Monorail was both Japan's oldest and shortest monorail line. At just 300 meters, this suspended monorail connected the East and West Gardens of Ueno Zoo, an animal park famous for its giant pandas. Sadly, despite its high popularity, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government decided not to invest in new trains. In 2023, it was decided the line would be dismantled. And so, an era has come to an end. This is my final tribute to one of my favorite trains from my childhood.
