At the heart of 'The Tattooist Of Auschwitz' is the relationship between Lali and Gita, who later wed after surviving the horrors at Auschwitz. Actor Jonah Hauer-King calls their relationship the "most important" one in Lali's story and the reason why the series stands out from others. "The fact that they were able to find someone in this place is so extraordinary. It really drew me in because it seems so implausible in many ways," said Hauer-King.
