Tim demonstrates a modern flip book, and then shows a neat little 'box set' of four flip books, each of which shows a scene from a very early film, made in the first years of cinema. The set was produced by the British Council around 1995, to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of cinema.
Annabelle's Serpentine Dance 1894 is the first one (see the actual film on YouTube - • Annabelle - Serpentine Dance (1894, s... )
Petras The Juggler from 1895 ( see the film at • It isn't Paul Cinquevalli - Old Juggl... )
The Derby 1896 (see • The Derby (1896) Robert W. Paul ) In case you have forgotten which horse won, it was Persimmon, ridden by John Watts!
Finally, Lumiere Cinematagraphie at the Empire, also 1896.
