Open water marathon swimmer Alice Dearing, isn’t just a game-changer in elite sport, she is also trying to change swimming at grassroots level too. After the Tokyo Olympics, Alice co-founding The Black British Swimming Association, which she hopes will reverse the statistics that 95% of black adults and 80% of black children do not swim.

It doesn’t stop there, Alice has co-created the very first swimming hat designed specifically for Black hair, something that has long been a barrier and is vital for representation in swimming, a place which hasn’t always made space for Alice.

Alice's story is one of determination, endurance and resilience in the face of personal and external difficulties to just keep on swimming. So I hope you will be super inspired by Alice's story to chase the dreams you have, even if the hurdles in front of you seem insurmountable.
