13-year-old Angus has found that the true meaning of happiness lies in helping others. Sharing insights from his personal experiences, this inspiring talk reminds us why it is essential to give back to our communities, and think of others as think of ourselves.

Angus Hall is a Grade 8 student at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario. Like many thirteen-year-old boys, he enjoys sports and hanging out with friends. Angus first developed his passion for service leadership on a trip to Ghana, in West Africa, when he was in Grade 3. He traveled there with his parents, brother, and three high school students from his former school. Although he found the experience of building a classroom block and organizing the school library meaningful, Angus was most profoundly struck by the sense of community and compassion he felt among the people there. Since then, he has gravitated towards service work and community initiatives. Angus was inspired by Craig Kielburger’s story and has taken part in three “We Day” events and a “MetoWe” trip to Arizona. Realizing that he is still young, Angus is full of dreams and aspirations. He is working on putting his vision into action.
