Renewable energy can provide huge environmental benefits over the course of a project’s lifetime.

As one of the country’s leading renewable energy developers EDF Renewables UK works hard to ensure the land is left in the same or better condition than when it first arrived onsite.

At each of its sites in England habitat plans are tailored and unique to specific locations and to the wildlife in that area. At Broomhill wind farm the team works closely with Durham Wildlife Trust as part of the nature reserve nearby to understand local species and what can be done to improve the environment for them.

In this short video, Michelle Campbell-Robson, EDF Renewables UK’s Environmental Manager gives an insight into how renewable energy developments can enhance biodiversity and the natural environment.
