If asked what is the largest American fast food restaurant chain, you’d probably say McDonald’s, and you’d be right. But what about the largest American fast food restaurant chain specializing in chicken sandwiches? This question is a bit longer, but the answer is still short and simple - it’s Chick-fil-A!
The origins of Chick-fil-A can be traced to a small 24-hour diner called the Dwarf Grill, opened in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia, by Samuel Truett Cathy and his brother Ben. Back then it was just a small family business, and no one knew that one day its founder will be famous all over the USA. This very place still exists, although now it’s name is the Dwarf House, and now it’s not only a restaurant, but also a museum. There the customers can experience the company’s history and see 1960s artifacts from the original building. Also the company is still owned by the Cathys, with the founder’s son Dan being a chairman, and his grandson Andrew being a chief executive. The same family has run the company for 76 years…
