The Fontainhas neighborhood in Panaji, the Capital city of Goa contain some of India’s most interesting history and colonial architecture. In 2024 Fontainhas, however may come as a surprise to many. Fontainhas has become a Instagram and photo hotspot in Goa as this residential neighborhood is beautiful with its brightly painted homes and shops. Some residents don’t want photo shoots on or near their property. If you take the time to explore outside the Fontainhas area of Panaji you will find a fascinating and fun city with historic Hindu Temples, including the Maruti Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman as well as some well preserved churches such as the Immaculate Conception. Panaji also has a vibrant market and some really delicious food and is worth visiting.
