What is 2-factor authentication (2FA) and why is it important? Authentication means proving who you say you are; 2FA means using two distinct characteristics to prove you are who you say you are. Authentication is an important security feature for everyone using computers, and is vital to understand when holding bitcoin, ether, and other cryptocurrencies. If you hold cryptoassets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, etc), you need to know about multi-factor authentication.
