Also I know this song is being used everywhere right now, but in my defense, I've had this idea with this song for a year now okay??

Long story short:
Geralt has a vision of Mary's execution.
We go back in time to when Mary found out about Geralt being her loyal watchman.
Mary fell in love, and Geralt had feelings for Mary too, but he was hesitant. Mary is a Queen, and she needs to marry someone with royal blood. He knew that they could never be. When Geralt rejected her, Mary got mad and wanted more power. Because maybe, if she got more power, they could be together. But she lost control, and she was put in prison and sentenced to death.
Geralt think she can help her and also save her, and so he does. They run away and gain power elsewhere, and for a time things are well. But not for long...
