NVIDIA Announces Project GR00T Foundation Model for Humanoid Robots and Major Isaac Robotics Platform Update.
NVIDIA recently announced Project GR00T, a groundbreaking foundation model designed for humanoid robots, marking a significant advancement in the field of robotics and embodied AI. This project aims to empower leading humanoid robot companies, including 1X Technologies, Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, Fourier Intelligence, Sanctuary AI, Unitree Robotics, and XPENG Robotics, among others, with comprehensive AI capabilities.

The Isaac Robotics Platform has also received a major update, providing developers with access to a new robot training simulator, the Jetson Thor robot computer, generative AI foundation models, and CUDA-accelerated perception and manipulation libraries. These enhancements enable developers to create more sophisticated and versatile robotic systems.

Project GR00T serves as a multimodal foundation model for humanoid robots, essentially acting as the mind of these robots. It enables them to learn various skills required to perform a wide range of tasks efficiently.
