एबीपी नेटवर्क के 'आइडियाज ऑफ इंडिया समिट' में टीचर खान सर शामिल हुए. इस दौरान उन्होंने अपने अब तक के सफर, बच्चों को कम पैसे में पढ़ाना, टीचिंग के नई तरीकों को लेकर बात की. उन्होंने कहा कि हम कोशिश करते हैं कि पढ़ाई को इतना इंटरेस्टिंग बना दें कि कोई इससे दूर ना भागे. उन्होंने कहा कि हमने गरीबी को इतनी पास से देखा है जितना पास से लोग अपनी बीवी को नहीं देखते हैं. हालांकि, उन दिनों दोस्तों ने काफी मदद की. उन्होंने बताया कि मेरी लाइफ का सबसे अच्छा फैसला इंग्लिश मीडियम से हिंदी मीडियम में आना था. अगर हिंदी मीडियम में नहीं आता तो आज कुछ नहीं होता. पढ़ाई में भाषा बाधा नहीं होनी चाहिए. खान सर ने बताया कि एक कंपनी ने उन्हें 140 करोड़ रुपये का ऑफर दिया था, लेकिन उन्होंने इसे ठुकरा दिया. अगर वो उस कंपनी में जाते तो फिर गरीब बच्चों को कौन पढ़ाता. जब मैं टीचिंग में आया तो मुझे लगा कि गरीब से गरीब बच्चा भी अच्छी पढ़ाई का सपना देख सकता है और हम उसकी मदद करेंगे. एक किस्सा है कि आपको घर जाना था और टिकट 90 रुपये की थी, लेकिन आपके पास पूरे पैसे नहीं थे तो आप घर नहीं जा पाए, इसपर खान सर ने बताया कि वो दिन मैं कभी नहीं भूल सकता. वो जिंदगी का सबसे अजीब सा दिन था. मेरे दादाजी ने मुझे कहा था कि सपने और ख्वाहिशें कभी खत्म नहीं होती, लेकिन कुछ जरूरतें होती हैं. तो पहले अपनी जरूरतों को देख लो फिर सपनों के लिए आगे बढ़ना. उन्होंने बताया कि इसके बाद मैंने होम ट्यूशन शुरू किया, फिर मैं एक कोचिंग सेंटर में पढ़ाने के लिए गया और वहां बच्चे बढ़ने लगे. कोचिंग वालों ने कहा कि फीस बढ़ाएंगे, मैंने इसका विरोध किया और फिर खुद ही कोचिंग क्लास शुरू कर दी. हमारे कोचिंग सेंटर पर बम भी फेंका गया था. सब कुछ तबाह हो गया था. फिर घर जाने की सोची तो टिकट 90 रुपये का था और मेरे पास 40 रुपये थे इसलिए तब मैं घर नहीं जा पाया था. उन्होंने बताया कि हाल ही में उन्हें एक कंपनी ने 140 करोड़ रुपये का ऑफर दिया था, लेकिन उन्होंने इसे ठुकरा दिया.
