In 1947, a ship caught fire in the port of Texas City (south of Houston). It was carrying a large load of ammonium nitrate (the same explosive used in the OKC bombing). It exploded and set fires throughout the area. One of the fires was on another ship carrying more ammonium nitrate, which exploded several hours later.
