Warship Guide - USS Indiana BB-58


USS Indiana was not as famous as her sisters but was still a gallant fighting ship in her own right. Often the forgotten SoDak, she saw extensive action in the Pacific theater during World War 2 and earned 9 battle stars for her efforts. Nicknamed “Indy” and also "The Hoosier Houseboat", she was the second battleship of the South Dakota class to be built. Her guns shelled numerous enemy installations throughout the Pacific and provided vital protection to the US fleet's valuable aircraft carriers.
