During our past live streams, we got a lot of comments and requests to show off some of our very first custom-made clothing pieces and we thought it was a great idea!

00:49 What Kind of "Custom" Suit?

It’s a made-to-order suit from Indochino. It isn’t a fully bespoke suit from a Savile Row tailor but at the same time, it’s not a readily available off-the-rack suit either. Also, it isn’t Kyle's very first custom suit. That suit was a solid navy suit from Brooks Brothers but as it no longer fits, it didn’t feel like the best choice for this video.

Indochino was founded in 2007 by Heikal Gani and Kyle Vucko. Originally, the company was online only. Now, this is still the case today, as Indochino has opened around 50 brick-and-mortar locations in America and Canada.

As of 2021, Indochino has also partnered with the department store, Nordstrom, where over 20 locations now bear an in-store Indochino. Since the company started up, they’ve been a big source of conversation in the menswear world because of their overall “affordability” marketing.

03:23 Kyle's Custom Suit Details: Jacket

The suit is a made-to-order double-breasted 3 piece suit. It is made in a navy pinstripe. The jacket is constructed in a traditional 6 X 2 stance, with lapels that aren’t too wide. The jacket is lined in a paisley pattern. The rest of the jacket is quite traditional, in that it has double vents at the rear, a straight welted breast pocket, and flapped hip pockets that are cut at an angle.

Just like the jacket, the waistcoat is a double-breasted closure but unlike the jacket, it doesn’t have lapels.

The suit trousers feature a Side Tab closure and a flat front finish with no cuff.

05:40 An Explanation of Kyle's Choices

The double-breasted option remains one of Kyle's favorite suit jacket features and looks great on someone with broad shoulders and chest too. Kyle made it a three-piece as he likes the option to remain appearing “dressed” or “put-together” even if he removes the jacket.

As for the fabric, Kyle has worn the suit in various seasons (except summer) but primarily chose it for its weight and warmth for cooler months.

→ color and pattern he chose. It feels quite timeless and true to Kyle and his personality.
→ the DB feature is still his favorite. Although he occasionally wears non DB

→ As Kyle's size shifted over the years, the side tab closure became less effective as opposed to belt loops.
→ To purchase the trousers with belt loops or buy a 2nd pair with belt loops.
→ Purchase the same pattern & color with a lighter fabric.
