Pakistan vs New Zealand.

Pakistan won the third ODI by fifty-four runs in Wellington. The architect of this victory was Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who played an aggressive innings in the final overs and then bowled well and showed the way to the pavilion to three players.

New Zealand won the toss in the morning and invited Pakistan to bat first. Pakistani openers Ramiz and Amir provided a balanced start of fifty runs. Ramiz was run out due to a miscalculation of a run, but the incoming players did not allow the tempo of the Pakistani innings to break and kept adding runs at the same pace, Amir Sohail and Inzamam scored attractive fifties. Ijaz and Saleem Malik also supported them, and both scored forty-two runs each. Ijaz also hit Cairns with a powerful six. In the end, Thanks to Wasim Akram's blistering thirty-six runs, Pakistan reached a strong total of 261.

Chasing 252, New Zealand took an aggressive start. But they were shocked when they lost three wickets in a row with the score of just 48 runs on the board. Roger Twose got a golden chance on Waqar's short ball and the umpire signaled a no ball when Mushtaq had caught him at fine leg position. It was a marginal decision that could go in favor of anyone, bowler, or batter.

On one occasion, Lee Germon was caught and bowled on Mushtaq's bowling, but the umpire gave not out, this decision could also go in favor of any team, but today both times the benefit of doubt went in favor of New Zealand.

However, Pakistani bowlers continued to take New Zealand wickets at reasonable intervals, due to which New Zealand's batting could not recover.

And collapsed fifty-four runs short from the target. Captain Lee Germon was the high scorer with forty runs. Aaqib and Wasim Akram took three wickets each.

Wasim Akram was adjudged man of the match for his outstanding all-round performance.
