Simone checks out the MG ZS EV, in it’s lower excite trim. It’s a full Electric vehicle that is on offer in the Australian market.

There is a single motor and battery combo that give it 130kw of power and 280Nm of torque.

The battery is 50.3 kwh which is a little smaller than we have been seeing in many of the EVs we have been reviewing but then again helps explain that price point.

Being a slightly smaller battery means the listed range is at just 320km wltp. We have found this to be pretty accurate and with our testing we were getting just over 300km of range.

This is fine if you are topping up nightly. But to get to a full charge from empty will take you over 30hrs. A 7kw charger gets to a full charge in 7- 8hrs. Fast chargers can offer charging times to 80% in under an hour.

There is Vehicle 2 Load or V2L on the MG ZS EV. An adapter on the charging point allows you can use the car to emit its stored energy and power your devices.

A handy feature not available on many EVs.- charging station

Pricing for this entry excite model starts from only $44,990 driveaway and for the top-of-the-line essence driveaway pricing starts at $48,990.
