The Roaring Twenties was a period in American history of dramatic social, economic and political change. For the first time, more Americans lived in cities than on farms. The nation’s total wealth more than doubled between 1920 and 1929, and gross national product (GNP) expanded by 40 percent from 1922 to 1929. This was largely in thanks to a number of powerful families whose entrepreneurship catapulted the U.S forward; like Rockefeller, Morgan and Eddison.

This landmark series looks back at the history of the turbulent 20th century. With access to rare archive footage, from World War One to Vietnam anti-war protests, Nazi propaganda to the rise of global terror organisations, witness a truly defining century in human history captured on film, as it happened, by the people who lived through it.
