The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has achieved one of its main goals: finding some of the first galaxies to form after the Big Bang. Using its powerful infrared vision, JWST has detected a galaxy that dates back to just 300 million years after the birth of the universe, breaking the previous record by nearly 100 million years. This galaxy, named GLASS-z13, is a glimpse into the cosmic dawn, when the universe was only 2% of its current age. Subscribe Luminary Cosmos for more.
