Elvis: Return to Tupelo tells the story of the singer who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and returned home for a triumphant concert as his rocket ship to fame and fortune was about to take off.

My wife and I stumbled on this story while filming a program about the Natchez Trace that took us through Tupelo, Mississippi. The head of the Tupelo visitors bureau insisted that we take some time to experience the Elvis trail in Tupelo. She was so nice we couldn’t say no.

She introduced us to a treasure trove of people, including Roy Turner, who pitched in to introduce us to the friends Elvis grew up with. They all had stories to tell that had never been told. We knew right then that we had to share these with the rest of the world. This is the result.
