A basic home theatre system starts with 5.1 configuration. But with technology advancements the desire for more real life like home cinema systems pushed the boundaries for Dolby in introducing their 3D Surround Sound technology, Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos adds height channels / Ceiling speakers to the existing 5.1 and 7.1 listener level configurations. This extra dimension layer of sound makes it one of the best 3D Surround Sound formats.

Atmos can start with 2 ceiling speakers or height channels and can go upto 4 and 6 too. For 5.1.2 Atmos their is little or no confusion in selection as the atmos configuration starts from this magic number of 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer.

The dilemma is more in 9 speaker configurations. Whether to opt for Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 setup or Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 Setup. So in this video, we thought of clearing this doubt for all of you who are in the same fix.
