Throwing it back with the Yeezy Tan 1's... Now these were dropped back when Yeezy rocked with Nike and they were all the hype. Even with the change with Yeezy some people still say this sneaker is an absolute grail! However, for these they weren't wearable and were all around falling apart. Now Vick has restored these twice, but he has never seen anything like this, so he called in his friend @Flippinkickz to help him out! You have seen Alex on the channel before, but this man is a restoration mastermind and works on some of the RAREST sneakers in the game... Check him out on social media!

Back to the restoration for today's episode of Restorations with Vick Almighty he will walk you through a full restoration on the Air Yeezy 1. They need a midsole and sole swap to make these 100% wearable! As always the first step of a restoration is to deconstruct the sneaker as a whole by removing the current sole and midsole.

The sole and midsole came off fairly easy due to the years of wear and tear plus the breakdown of the materials that we had seen from the start. Once the sole was removed there was a ton of dried up glue and that 100% needed to be removed to make the reglue work. Alex took care of removing the old glue while Vick took care of the donor sole.

Alright before you come at us let's talk about the donors.... Now there are next to no options for a perfect match for the Yeezy 1. The options we do have are either the same age as the Yeezy or they have to be a replica.. We choose to go with a replica Yeezy 1 and we know "reps" they aren't authentic blah blah... We got it! However, these were a GREAT rep and the quality of them was top tier. For this step Vick had to take the midsole and sole off the upper to prepare it for the reglue. However, they still weren't ready to be glued on, because these reps were used! For this step we had to clean the entire sole using RESHOEVN8R products to make it work!

Last step for the donor was to remove the old glue. If you don't remove the old glue on sneakers or on midsoles and outsoles... They WILL NEVER work how you want them too; plus it will be sloppy! With the donors and the original uppers prepped it was time to get to the reglue portion. For this process we used Barge Super Stick to stick the midsole and outsole to the Yeezy 1 upper. Now that everything is stuck together these are looking top tier.

There was one more issue though.. There was some damage on the suede toebox, so we had to shave down the top layer of the suede to fully repair it. With just a few steps these Yeezy 1's are now among the few wearable pairs in the sneaker game.
