Gavin Esler presented the BBC Newsnight over a period of 14 years and has written several books, both fiction and non-fiction.

His newest book is entitled 'How Britain Ends. English Nationalism and the Rebirth of Four Nations'.

In this video he talks about the effect of Brexit on the identity and cohesion of the UK. He criticises the House of Lords and explains why in his opinion it should be abolished.

He says that something remarkable happened in 2015. The four constituent parts of the UK voted for different parties. How united is the UK now the four parts of the UK have gone in different directions, with both Scotland and Northern Ireland taken out of the EU against their will?
