All-new 2024 Ineos Fusilier Off-road SUV Features
Ineos has revealed the Fusilier, a robust new SUV that will be available with all-electric propulsion.

Positioned below the Grenadier in the lineup, the Fusilier will also come with the option of a range extender featuring a compact petrol engine to maintain the battery charge during extended journeys.


Although the Ineos Grenadier bears a resemblance to the classic Land Rover Defender, the new Fusilier exhibits a touch of the Mercedes G Wagon in its design. The circular LED headlights and square grille share a notable similarity with the latter vehicle.


The theme persists along the sides with squared-off wheel arches and black trim strips running across the doors in the Fusilier. The resemblance extends to the push-button door handles, reminiscent of the G Wagon. Despite its slightly shorter stature compared to the Mercedes, the Fusilier appears compact and stout from a side profile.


Diverging from the G-Wagon influence, the Fusilier takes a distinct turn at the rear by omitting a rear-mounted spare wheel. The unique round headlights and barn doors contribute to its individuality. From every perspective, it exudes a bold appearance, akin to a Grenadier that underwent a wash on a slightly warmer setting.

Ineos has not disclosed specific details about the Fusilier's powertrain, but it has confirmed that the SUV will be all-electric, with an additional range extender variant in the lineup. Unlike a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), where a petrol engine assists in short electric-only trips, a range extender functions as an electric vehicle with a small petrol engine serving solely as a generator to extend the driving range.

In the 2024 Fusilier, the petrol engine is dedicated to charging the batteries and does not directly power the wheels. This feature is beneficial for those considering the shift to electric vehicles but are concerned about potential range limitations.

The Ineos Fusilier will be available to order from the autumn this year.
