Today We Will Review Rivian R1T 2022 Pickup Truck.

With the never-ending craze for electric pick-up trucks amplifying its pace, the start-up brand Rivian has introduced a new superstar in the market.

The other electric trucks, including Tesla's Cybertruck, haven’t started the production process. Yet, the makers of R1T have verified that all the reveal videos that rocked the internet are the real trucks that will be on the market soon.

But what is really special about the R1T besides being one of the world's first electric trucks? Let’s find out.

Let’s first talk about its amazing trunk space.

The front trunk of Rivian R1T is the real deal. After spending years studying the industry, Rivian explored every available space that could be utilized for storage. The 11 cubic foot trunk is a spacious and lockable space that can be accessed via a fob, exterior button, in-vehicle controls, or the Rivian app.

The trunk holds a cargo net to store loose items, and a detachable platform on the floor opens an additional compartment. The lights inside turn on automatically, and it also has a 12-volt outlet that drives power from the interior.

The innovative storage solutions don’t stop there.

A 65-inch cargo compartment that stretches the width of the truck is located behind the rear seats of the R1T and has been named the gear tunnel.

It has doors on each side and flips down to function as a seat or a step to access the roof or the bed. Most suitable for storing items to keep the mess out of the interior, the 11.6 cubic feet watertight space comes with automatic LED lights and both 12-volt and 120-volt plugs.

The inside is fitted with an enduring material that can be effortlessly dusted off and cleaned. Another resourceful addition is the hidden compartment inside each door panel to stash away the little things that always seem to slip through your fingers.

While those storage solutions are great, there is still plenty of space on the truck bed.

The R1T's bed measures around 54 inches with its tailgate up, while it increases to 83.6 inches with the tailgate down. It also comes with a load-bearing panel that eliminates the gap between the truck and the tailgate, thus creating a continuous flat loading surface from front to the back.

The walls of the bed have forged steel tie-downs around every corner, and the entire surface is composed of reinforced compression-molded structural composite. This feature makes it resistant to corrosion and wear, and is easily able to hold heavy cargo. There are four more tie-downs on the bed-rails above, and they can double down as points to mount the cargo crossbars.

Two LED lights, one on each side, automatically turn on when the tailgate opens. The tailgate itself opens independently and can be controlled by the Rivian app, in-vehicle controls, fob, or a button on the bed rail.

On the bed wall near the tailgate are two 15 amps, 120-volt outlets that come with a cover to protect them in any weather. They are great for camping as you’ll be able to power a device such as a coffee pot or an electric griddle.

Another wonderful feature on this trust is the air compressor. The hose easily reaches every tire and with its multiple adapters, it can pump to a maximum psi of 150.

There also exists an unlockable storage space underneath the bed for a full-size spare or a storehouse for a tailgate party. Its weatherproof feature protects it from all extreme conditions, be it rain, heat, or soil dust.

Cover options also turn the bed into 29 cubic feet of storage space and can be done manually or using powered methods.

If there is still not enough storage space, the R1T also comes with a hidden in-built trailer hitch.

It is covered with a detachable panel for better looks and aerodynamic efficiency. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds with a tongue weight rated at 1,155 pounds. They are impressive numbers for any pickup truck.

While the storage options are incredible, the interior is a sight to behold.

It comprises of materials that are very durable and present no difficulty while cleaning. Keeping in mind the muddy boots and other fragments that most travelers will ultimately encounter, natural grained ash on the front is combined with stain and smudge-resistant surfaces.

It is made possible with its 100% recycled microfiber headliner and lightweight Chilewich floor mats for its high performance and quick dry characteristics. The floor mats can be effortlessly removed and replaced within a matter of minutes.

The animal-friendly vegan leather seats on the front can be heated or ventilated and allow an impressive 8-way adjustability. It includes aft, tilt, lift, recline and has a 4-way power lumbar support.

While the front seats are comfortable and spacious, the ones at the back are slightly soft in the lumbar area, forcing any extra tall passengers to slouch upon seating.
