Benjamin Millepied is a French dancer and choreographer. He was born in Bordeaux, France. Benjamin began studying ballet when he was eight. Then, he attended the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon, France. In 1993, Millepied joined the New York City Ballet on a full scholarship from the French ministry. Starting from 2001, he began creating his own choreography and then he was a principal dancer with New York City Ballet from 2002 to 2011. Later, he was the director of dance at the Paris Opéra Ballet from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, Benjamin dealt with choreographing some movies. His work for Aronofsky’s ballet thriller Black Swan immediately attracted the attention of Hollywood to him.
