Adopting a cat from a shelter is something I've never done. So I'm sharing my animal adoption experience at our local animal shelters here in Tulsa, Oklahoma to hopefully inspire others to adopt from their local rescue shelters as well. My cat Sparta was originally given to me by a friend who got him from a little girl who went door to door trying to find him a home before her mother took him to the pound. My cat Loki (RIP) was adopted through an independent cat rescue which operated on weekends through Petsmart.
