The Australian Grains Genebank (AGG) is custodian to one of the largest collections of grain crop species globally, operating under the International Treaty of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture that supports sharing of genetic material. AGG is a partnership between the Grains Research and Development Corporation and Agriculture Victoria. Recently an additional $30M was announced for the AGG which will allow digital innovation and connectivity to international genebanks, improve the operational function, and allow for new infrastructure including long term seed storage and new laboratories and work areas.
