🤩 Have you ever seen a wild GPO in a camouflage mode? It’s magic!

🐙 Weighing in at an impressive 70.7 kg (156 lbs) and with an arm span the length of a car, the Giant Pacific Octopus is one big squishy puppy dog!

🥷 Despite its huge size, this species is skilled in stealth mode. It can camouflage itself just as well as its smaller relatives, blending into rocky reefs and sandy seafloor with no problem.

📈 While most warm-water species of octopus live just 12-18 months, the GPO’s life spans 3 to 5 years.

Typically, a reddish-brown color, GPO fades to light or marbled pink when they are relaxed or sleeping.

When hunting over rocky reefs they’ll activate muscular hydrostats creating deep ridges & folds that allows them to blend into diverse habitats.

Layer that superpower with color changing cells (chromatophores) that give them tv screen like skin, sit back, and marvel this gentle giant!

If ya read this far, let us know if seeing this textured camouflage is a first for you! 🥰
