This has to be THE most outrageous railfanning of all time for us in 17 years! We get to our normal spot in North Platte and set up for the waiting intermodel train. When we thought the train was getting to live because the crew turned on all of their lights, they shined us for about a minute and shut ALL the lights off.

A few minutes later a North Platte Police car comes over the tracks, gets out and asks what we are doing. We explained and said that the crew of the train w were waiting for dispatched the NP PD because THEY THOUGHT OUR PLASTIC TRIPOD WAS A GUN!!!! WTF! The officer knew it was a tripod but the dumb old UP crew didn’t. Really. After a few more minutes the officer left and he was pissed at the UP crew for making a bogus phone call. After that we packed up for the night and got the trains you see after our rant in the video. Anyways hope you enjoy!
