Marche Royale is a French military march dated back to year 1679.
Written by Jean-Baptiste Lully, which can be said to be the King among the composers of French military music with his long list of marches that he made. He was a gifted composer of civilian music as well so he working in the service of King Louis XIV. Unfortunatly he died too early.
He felt so uplifted and so much enthusiasm during a performance of his music for the King that he swung around his conducting stick so hard that he accidentally hit his food and punched a hole in the skin. The wound then got infected and he died shortly afterwards.
