Whether people were anticipating these movies based on the source material, the plot, the actors, or the director, moviegoers expected much more from movies like The Last Airbender, Waterworld, Sucker Punch, Transcendence, Cowboys & Aliens, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Alien vs. Predator, Hancock, In Time, The Monuments Men – all of which showed promise but were executed poorly.
