Despite performing well academically, James wasn't fond of school, finding solace only in creative classes. Initially viewing it as a challenge rather than a career path, James soon realised his true calling was on the comedic stage.

James Acaster is also widely recognised for his popular podcast 'Off Menu', which he co-hosts with fellow comedian Ed Gamble. Additionally, he co-presents the comedy panel show Hypothetical alongside Josh Widdicombe.
