Flight on the Edge: The fascinating thing about these mountains is how abruptly they end at their eastern limits, making you wonder why that is so. The edges of the Sierra Navada Mountains somehow draw you in, speaking of earth's powerful forces, ancient trails and hidden passages. This is an amazing place to fly and explore, so that's where we're going!

This wonderfully scenic flight skirts the southeastern rim of California's Sierra Nevada where its rugged mountains abruptly meet the Mojave Desert. Starting from Kern Valley Airport, California, we fly east over Hwy 178 to Walker Pass, then north above Hwy 395 into Owens Valley for flybys of Red Hill Cinder Cone, Sage Flat, and surreal Owens Lake before arriving in Lone Pine, California.
