Today on Unity Motorsports Garage I did a dive into the "sleeper" cars/trucks in 2024.
The term sleeper cars really goes back to the 1950's I suppose but really started to gain meaning in the 1960's during the musclecar era. A person could go to the dealer and check the right boxes on the order form and get a mundane car with some serious muscle under the hood!
with that era coming to an end in the early 1970's it gave way to the "Street freak" cars and later evolved into the ProStreet scene. This period everything had to be tubbed out chromed to the max to give a faux sense of speed.
The Sleepers followed this dark period. People wanted to pack some serious muscle in a ratty looking car to beatup on the ProStreeters of the day!
