CBGB (Never mind the hip-hop crap) was a New York City music club opened in 1973 by Hilly Kristal in Manhattan's East Village. The club was previously a biker bar and before that was a dive bar.[2] The letters CBGB were for Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Kristal's original vision, yet CBGB soon became a famed venue of punk rock and new wave bands like the Ramones, Richard Hell, Television, Patti Smith Group, the Dead Boys, Blondie, and Talking Heads. From the early 1980s onward, CBGB was known for hardcore & Punk and âNO PLACE TO PISSâ aka the PiSs had there 2 first gigs in 2001 and played the NY tri-state area until 2008. After the death of there drummer âKeith Incorrigibleďżźâ they called it ďżźquits. âThe PiSsâ brought back 1977 proper punk from there youth days of the 1970s for 8 yearsďżź with members: the late âKeith Incorrigible/drumsâ, âBomb Walker/vocals/Guitarâ, âJoe Six Pack/Bass/vocalsâ. đ§ˇ
