My Eclipse awning was slowly having more and more difficulty closing until it just stop rolling up altogether. A few times we were able to pull down on the scissor arms to help it start to roll, but that ended too. A RV tech suggested that the Gas Props (shocks) no longer could handle the weight , On these awnings, when fully extended, on the cloth in the front left corner there is a Serial Number, Part Number, and Model Number. Going to the Carefree of Colorado web page you can insert these numbers and find all the parts you need to repair and replace. I am waiting for the gas props to show when it finally stopped moving, so this morning I did a YouTube search on repairs and found ONE posting by David Morris!!! Mr. Morris did a great job, but as an aside he showed how there is a boot/sleeve that started all his failures. My video is of that part (which was what failed on mine) and how "simple" it was to reverse as suggested. His video is great, mine just shows what I needed in addition to what he showed. I hope this can help others. The actual work took about 15 minutes is all.
