Krewes are the organizations that make New Orleans Mardi Gras happen. In this video, we explore the inner workings of a handful of krewes - a group of glammed-out sci-fi creatures, a team of dancers dressed as cocktails, a gay Mardi Gras ball looking back on 60+ years, and a classic float parade.

We talk with krewe members about where it all comes from, how they got started, how to join, why it takes to make the magic happen, and how it all fits into “real life.”
