H.M.S. Dragon, supplied the official guard of honour, for the nationally important unveiling of the Stone of Remembrance and Cross of Sacrifice by the Governor General.

Later that year following and directly related to the Royal Navy visit in 1924, the USA decided to send a Naval fleet of ships, as a sign to the Japanese that the USA could project a large and powerful force across the Pacific. Little expecting that in less than twenty years, that example would convert itself into a reality.
