Well well, there is yet another new Poco phone: the M3. As it seems to be a very cheap phone; but is it any good? You can find the Poco M3 here: https://bit.ly/XMF_AE_POCOM3

The Poco M3 has some very good things going for it like the 6000mAh battery. Yes. Six-thousand milliamp-hour. That is very very big, but what else is there?

The M3 has a Snapdragon 662 processor, which automatically places it in a much lower category than the X3 we have recently looked at. This probably the reason why it did not perform up to my expectations, but also why it will be a very affordable budget phone.

It’s also got a 48-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. -To really call this a 3-camera setup is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion.

I find that the camera is decent when there is enough light, however, when there is not a lot of light the quality degrades rapidly. Up to the point where noise and artifacts are predominantly ruling the image.

On the video side, this camera can only shoot in 1920x1080 HD resolution and the quality is really not something to be very satisfied with. It’s got a lot of contrast, it’s quite noisy, it’s not well stabilized, and it had a lot of video artifacts. During the day with a lot of light it was surely a little bit better, but very far from being very good.

On the other side, the selfie camera, is really not very good either. With enough light (read: a lot of light) it does quite good with more details although the color rendering is not very good. When it gets darker this camera is just pure noise and artifacts and was pretty much unusable.

So in performance, the Poco M3 was not great, the camera was not great and the experience was not great either. The only two features that are noteworthy are the battery, which is really quite big, and the screen was alright as well. It’s not a super-high-end AMOLED display, but it wasn’t really crappy for a 60Hz LCD display.

Generally, I found the M3 to be quite a disappointment, and it did not really live up to my expectations. Luckily there is also the X3, which might be a little bit of a better choice in this price category.
