I should also add that my troubles with the Tesla Service Team was due partly to not having access to my Tesla in the Tesla App yet (the ownership transfer process in Tesla's system takes some time and requires some supporting docs). Still, there's no reason that my original appointment should have been canceled inexplicably. Since then, I've had an overall positive experience with Tesla Service.
